Lori Goldston is a classically trained and rigorously de-trained cellist, composer, improvisor, producer, writer and teacher based in Seattle. Her voice as a cellist, amplified or acoustic is full, textured, committed and original. A perpetual inquirer, she wanders recklessly across borders that separate genre, discipline, time and geography, performing in clubs, cafes, galleries, arenas, concert halls, sheds, ceremonies, barbecues, and sanctuaries; she toured with Nirvana and appeared with them in “Unplugged in New York”. Current and former collaborators, co-conspirators and bosses include Earth, Mirah, David Byrne, Nirvana, Jherek Bischoff, Malcom Goldstein, Matana Roberts, Cat Power, Ellen Fullman, John Doe, the Wedding Present, Laura Veirs, Secret Chiefs 3, Portland Cello Project, Angelo Spencer et les Hauts Sommets, Marisa Anderson, Your Heart Breaks, Trey Gunn, Ô Paon, Tara Jane O’Neil, Natacha Atlas, LeRoy Bell, Ed Pias, Byron Au Young, Christian Rizzo, Threnody Ensemble, Cynthia Hopkins, 33 Fainting Spells, Vanessa Renwick and Lynn Shelton. She is co-founder of the Black Cat Orchestra, and has toured the U.S. and Europe with Earth, and recorded Angels of Darkness Demons of Light, Parts 1 & 2; in 2010 she opened as a soloist on tour with Earth and Wolves in the Throne Room. Roro is a drummer who experiments with free percussion sounds. Besides playing in improv group Dagora he plays with different musicians and solo. Roro tries to find the energy of space and participants while remaining open to the environment and acoustics. Lately Roro has been lucky enough to have been making sonic waves of liberty with gems like: Anne la Berge, Peter Quistgard, Jaap Blonk, James Harrar, Yedo Gibson, Marshall Allen (of The Sun Ra Arkastra), Dagora, Ti Femme, Dylan Carlson (of Earth), Eugene Chadbourne, Geoff Leigh (of The Henry Cw), Peter Zincken, Frankie Vis, Ludo Mich, City Hands, Raoul van der Weide, Sunburned hand of the man, Eric Thielemans, Mik Quantius, John Moloney (of Thurston Moore’s new band), Cathy Heyden, Daevid Allen (of Gong/Soft Machine), Alfredo Genovesi, Arvind Ganga, and many more….. Ti Femme is the solo project of artist Helena Sanders. Rituals in voice, harmonica, tape, found sounds, accordion, keyboards, and fx. Storytelling from the in between places through chant and repetition. Ti Femme has toured and collaborated with Amsterdam noise/jazz improvisers Dagora and berlin based musician Wouter Jaspers, and has toured throughout Europe and the USA. (www.helenasanders.com)
