Ian Christensen’s BaBite

BaBite is a new, collective ensemble featuring Portland and NYC musicians versed in jazz, avant-garde, classical, rock, R&B and more. The group aims at crafting new improvised music that’s adventurous, beautiful, raw, and real. BaBite consists of: Ian Christensen-tenor saxophone, Noah Simpson-trumpet, Ari Chersky-guitar, Andre St. James-bass, Jonas Oglesbee-drums.

 

Mary Sutton

Mary Sutton is a pianist, composer, and teacher based in Portland, Oregon. She received her Bachelor’s in Music Composition from New England Conservatory, and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Piano Performance at Portland State University.

As a pianist, Mary performs regularly with Portland Eurythmy, and accompanies at Portland Waldorf School.

Mary plays synth in the duo Cat Mummies At The Louvre with Caley Feeney, and is in the process of recording her compositions for synthesizer.

Mary Sutton has worked closely with composer Emahoy Tsegue-Maryam Guebrou to assist in publishing a book of her sheet music, and is in partnership with the Emahoy Music Foundation.
